Come and join us at Fairfield or Eastgate for our final Pint Night of April! We’ll be featuring brews from Southern Tier and West Sixth Brewing Company!
Fairfield - Southern Tier Brewing
Southern Tier Brewing Company of Lakewood, New York, has grown to produce more than 100,000 barrels of beer annually. The hand crafted ales are now available in more than thirty States and points beyond.
Southern Tier History
Founders Phineas DeMink and Allen “Skip” Yahn started the brewery with the vision of reviving the practice of small batch brewing to a region rich in brewing tradition. In 2002, with equipment gained from the purchase of the Old Saddleback Brewing Co. in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the Southern Tier Brewing Company began production in the Stoneman Business Park just outside of Lakewood, New York. By 2003, select varieties of small batch ales were locally distributed, and by 2005, sales covered the majority of New York State and Pennsylvania. Before launching a successful roster of seasonal beers, the brewery produced Pilsner, Mild Ale, and India Pale Ale.
Southern Tier immediately garnered regional attention and demand for the product quickly outgrew what their modest facility could handle. In 2009 a new 20,000 square foot building was built for the purpose of brewing innovative, high-quality beer to accommodate an expanding customer base. In this new facility, the small brewery was able to grow and offer the product both nationally and internationally, while still satisfying its loyal fans.
Tomorrow in Fairfield we will be featuring the following beers: 3 Citrus Peel, Nu Skool IPA, Lemon Drop, 2x Unfiltered IPA
Eastgate - West Sixth Brewing
West Sixth are our friendly neighbors to the south, in Lexington, KY! We are lucky to get some of their core beers such as IPA, Amber Ale, Lemongrass Wheat and Pay It Forward Cocoa Porter in Ohio, along with a small selection of their seasonal beers. If you ever make it down to their brewery, it also features barrel aging program which is rather expansive. Sadly those beers don’t make it up here. Luckily, Lexington isn’t too far!
About West Sixth
“Founded in 2012, we’re a craft microbrewery located in a historic 100-year-old bakery called The Bread Box on West 6th Street in Lexington, Kentucky. We brew and can our beer out of that location, and it’s sold at bars, restaurants, grocery stores and liquor stores throughout the state of Kentucky (and across the river in Cincinnati, OH). We pride ourselves on the beers that we make and the impact we have on the communities we’re a part of.
We focus our brewing talents on a wide variety of beers – we produce and can styles ranging from our flagship West Sixth IPA, to our Pay it Forward Cocoa Porter. In our taprooms in downtown Lexington, we have 15-20 West Sixth varieties on tap, along with occasional special bottle releases from our Sixfold and Barrel-aged series. Now a team of more than 40, we focus on brewing beers with quality and creativity that we’re proud to serve to our friends, and most importantly, that we like to drink!”
Tomorrow in Eastgate we will be featuring the following beers: Tansy Brandy Triple, IPA, Blonde Ale, Amber Ale, and Smithtown Brown Ale

Greetings, Earthlings! Earth Day is tomorrow, so we’ve put together a little information that might help you live a “greener” life! But before we get into it,let’s dive into what Earth Day actually is, shall we?
Origins and History
Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970 when thousands of communities, universities, schools and other organizations not only celebrated our planet, but used the day to also bring attention to environmental reform. Over 20 million Americans participated in the first Earth Day, which was originally proposed by Sen. Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin (who was later awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for being the founder of Earth Day by Bill Clinton in 1995).
Over the years Earth Day supported the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency and contributed to the passage of the Clean Air Act, the Water Quality Improvement Act, the Endangered Species Act and several other environmental laws.
While Earth Day was started in the United state,s it has grown into a global holiday. In the year 2000, over 200 million people participated in 141 countries. In more recent times, the focus of Earth Day has shifted to combating global warming. Last year, 120 countries signed the Paris Agreement, a climate protection treaty between United Nations countries. It was the first major step in combating global warming as an entire planet. According to Earth Day Network, more than a billion people across the globe participate in Earth Day Activities.

You might think that all honeys are created equal, but Bushwick Kitchen begs to differ.
Taking an already beloved foodstuff and an actual legend of the hot sauce world and making it your own would be a tough proposition for just about anyone, so when Bushwick Kitchen stepped up to the plate and brought more flavor and more fun to both honey and sriracha, we were more than just surprised, we were impressed!
Their Bees Knees line of honeys are, well, the bees knees. Currently, Jungle Jim’s carries the Salted and Spicy Honey bottles. Sweet and savory already, Bushwick Kitchen take raw wildflower honey and combines with just about of salt to bring out even more amazing flavors. This one’s great on soft pretzels, or on sandwiches with sliced bananas and natural peanut butter.
The Spicy Honey is a delicate balance of sweet and heat, with just the right amount of both to make this a delicious addition to hot and cold teas (yeah, we said it), on top of ice cream, or freshly made buttermilk biscuits.
Combining two taste titans like Gochujang and Sriracha was, without a doubt, a stroke of genius. There’s so much flavor and just the right amount of spiciness, it elevates any dish it’s used on. Salty, garlicky, peppery and hot, this is great on ramen, pho and hot dogs and sausages. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, try it as a dipping sauce with dried mango (just trust us).
Stop in soon to see us and grab a bottle or two of the awesome creations. You won’t be disappointed. And remember: keep it hot!
Jungle Jim’s “Pepperologist”
As we head into those lazy, hazy days of summer, the coffee lovers in the crowd start thinking about iced tea and iced coffee. You’ll find everything you need for brewing right here in Gourmet Galeria. And what a selection we have!
Some “new” ways to make a pot of coffee are trending right now. Cold brew coffee has a unique, rich flavor and is less acidic than traditional brewing. Brew it at room temperature or in the refrigerator 12-24 hours. Cold brew coffee can be stored in the Bodum, Primula, or other airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Pour Over coffee has been around for years but has gained popularity recently as lots of new pour over designs have been introduced. This method of brewing provides excellent, rich taste and robust aroma while maintaining the natural oils of the ground coffee. Freshly ground beans are a must.
Gourmet Galeria is your coffee maker center. Save 10% on all our coffee makers, coffee and tea presses, pour overs, cold brews, all the accessories, and so much more. What great gifts! The sale ends April 30 th so shop now. Happy brewing.

Eastgate - Sixpoint Brewery
Sixpoint Brewery is located in Brooklyn, NY and is known for their tall and thin cans, kind of similar to an energy drink. You’ll find their Sweet Action Ale, Bengali IPA, Crisp Pils and Resin Double IPA on our shelves regularly along with their seasonals.
“The idea of "Sixpoint" as a code of brewing has resiliently persevered over centuries of rapid human development. But it has not been a journey without struggle or conflict. The symbol was very prominent during the medieval period and up until the early 1900s, but its popularity and visibility started to wane within the last century. After 1950, Sixpoint was nearly snuffed out and one of the cornerstone crafts of our civilization was nearly extinguished. Was Sixpoint dead, or just dormant?
The shimmering light of the Brewer's star started to shine once again in 2004 with its reincarnation as "Sixpoint Craft Ales." This is when the Sixpoint Brew Crew not only resurrected the Sixpoint Brewers' Star, but also breathed life into a patchwork of brewing equipment within an 800 square foot garage in a then-dilapidated neighborhood of Brooklyn, NYC called Red Hook. The original creations of Sixpoint Craft Ales were a mash-up of professional brewing experiences, global brewery influences, and unbridled homebrew proliferation. Out of this modest maritime enclave hundreds of delicious craft brews were concocted and disseminated, and the star had been reborn.”
Friday in Eastgate we will be featuring the following Sixpoint beers: Resin, Hi Res and Crisp!
Now, it's your turn!
