For the past 10 years Blue Oven has been focused on putting great bread in front of great people. Each farmers' market has given us the opportunity to refine our bread, develop new ideas, and improve to make our customers happy. Our restaurant partners have given us wonderful insights into exciting ways our wood-fired bread works with food. We've used those ideas to fuel food ventures like our Toast Bar at Findlay Market, as well as increasingly in our seasonal bread offerings throughout the year.
Now, after 3 years with Jungle Jim's, Blue Oven is bringing something completely different to the table and featuring our own food creations in a brand new eatery just around the corner from the Beer & Wine Tasting Bar at Jungle Jim's in Eastgate.
The team is hard at work at the bakery developing, creating, and tasting fresh new items to make our food location a MUST stop during your trip to Cincinnati's favorite International Market. You'll soon be able to try English Muffins in ways you've never imagined, Bad Boy bread with farm-fresh ingredients, and fresh-baked sweets Sara created just for you.
The new stand at Jungle Jim's will also give you another chance to see where Blue Oven is heading with the development of our property off of McKeever Pike and 32 with exciting produce, freshly-milled stone-ground wheat flour, and the occasional t-shirt or hoodie.
We're thrilled to be growing our relationship with one of our most steadfast supporters in Jungle Jim's, and we look forward to the bright future and exciting opportunity we have in growing our FOODIE relationship with you!
Join us for the Grand Opening!

Have a Sweet Tooth? Abby Girl Sweets Is Now Open in Eastgate!
We're excited to welcome yet another new business to Jungle Jim's Eastgate! For those looking for their next favorite coffee shop, or cupcakery, or if you're just in the mood for a sweet treat, Abby Girl Sweets has opened its doors next to the Foodie Entrance of our Eastgate location.
Stop in before or after your next shopping trip, or hey, if you're feeling adventurous, shop, grab a cupcake and a coffee, then shop some more! All that matters is that you have a cupcake or cookie in hand. Be sure to check out their website for a list of all of their cupcake flavors!
About Abby Girl Sweets
"Abby Girl Sweets is a family run business; owned and operated by a husband and wife team - Nathan & Andrea Thompson. Our cupcakery gets it's name from our little daughter Abby or 'Abby Girl" as we affectionately like to call her. "Abby Girl" is our chief taste tester and does a little cupcake dance when she really likes one.
All of our cupcakes are BAKED FRESH FROM SCRATCH; no cake mixes here. You'll find our cupcakes to be moist and full of flavor. We use the finest and freshest ingredients, like, pure cane sugar, sweet cream butter, and only the best cocoa.
We hope you get a chance to stop by our shop and introduce yourself to some of our FLAVORFUL CUPCAKES."
You may have missed it, but The Olive Pit has moved - and transformed - at our Eastgate location. Until recently, you could find this incredible selection of olives from around the world next to our awesome Beer & Wine Department.
Now, you can find The Olive Pit attached to our Deli Department, just across from our Produce Department, and just a short walk away from our Cheese Shop. Everything you need to make fruit, veggie, cheese, meat and olive trays and platters is now all in the same area, making it convenient and easy to come up with new ideas and recreate old favorites.
And don't forget: you don't have to be shy! If you would like a sample, just ask! There are dozens of olives, mixes and other delicious treats available, so we know it can be a bit overwhelming. But we're here to help you along on your own olive adventure!
What's your favorite olive you've had from The Olive Pit?
What was once a roaming restaurant - better known as a food truck - is now a comfortable, stylish and delicious brick and mortar restaurant inside our Eastgate location. Taking the best of both Korean and Mexican cuisine, owner BJ Kim has created a dynamic menu of fusing the two into something wholly unique. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas and more, Red Sesame is a great addition to Jungle Jim’s International Market Eastgate.
We’re excited to introduce BJ and his team to our customers (and to introduce his customers to Jungle Jim’s), so we asked him a few questions about the restaurant, the menu and future plans. Welcome to the Jungle, BJ and Red Sesame!
What made you want to get into the food business?
I don't really have much professional culinary background other than working at restaurants as a part timer when I was in school.
However, when I moved to Cincinnati for my job from NY, I noticed there was a shortage of options for ethnic food restaurants and that's when I started to develop my plan for Red Sesame.
What's your personal favorite dish that you serve? What's the most popular?
All our tacos are my favorite! As for the most popular dish, it sounds typical but all the menu items we have are equally popular. However, if I had to choose, that'd be tacos and burritos.
We have had very loyal customers since our very first year. Once people try our food, most of them become repeat customers. We have some customers that are fixed on one item, only getting tacos for 4 years! Same goes for burritos and quesadillas.
What's been the most exciting thing about opening a physical location?
That people can visit us anytime.
Why did you choose Jungle Jim's for your first brick and mortar location?
Jungle Jim's is a destination place and carries so many International & ethnic products.
I thought it'd be a perfect location to introduce our restaurant.
What are your plans going forward in 2017? Any new ideas, menu items, etc?
Since there's been demand for catering, we will start to focus more on catering, and continue to introduce our new location.
Be sure to stop by and visit BJ and his team the next time you’re shopping - but really, Red Sesame is worth the trip on it’s own! You can also follow along with Red Sesame on Facebook to find out what they’re cooking up in the months to come!
