Take a trip with us through our sweetest memories of the decades we’re showcasing, sit back, relax, and let the sugar flow!
This stick candy is made from peanut butter rolled in sugar, and dusted with toasted coconut! There’s a sugar free version, as well. So why is it called Chick-O-Stick? Well, the Atkinson Candy Company website states that one of their sales guys just "came up with the name one day, and well, it just stuck."
You might have referred to these as “wax bottles” back in the day, but the official name is Nik-L-Lips. They are basically wax bottles with flavored syrup inside. Bite off the top, suck out the liquid, and chew the wax like gum!
These simple sweet candy wafers come in a ton of different flavors like orange, lemon, lime, clove, chocolate, cinnamon, licorice, and wintergreen. Necco Wafers actually date all the way back to 1847 when Oliver Chase, an English immigrant, invented a lozenge cutting machine that he used to make the wafers. These candies were even carried by union soldiers in the Civil War! They were also given to soldiers in WWI and WWII. Because of this, many soldiers began supporting the brand at home, which lead to its success.
Necco Candy Buttons
